Mechanical waste water treatment plant was put into operation in April 2004. Works on construction of the biological waste water treatment plant commenced on 1 December 2004.Thirty-three months later works were completed in accordance with the time schedule agreed with the City of Zagreb.
The plant capacity may be increased to 1.5 million PE if required.
The plant design, including architectural solution of the plant buildings/facilities has been developed by Zagrebačke otpadne vode d.o.o., founded by companies WTE Wassertechnik GmbH, RWE Aqua GmbH and Vodoprivreda Zagreb d.d.
