ZAGREB WASTEWATER LTD AND TH PHILHARMONICS IN COOPERATION WITH SCHOOLS

After a successful Earth Day, organized this year at the Zagreb Wastewater Ltd at the beginning of May, it was time for the traditional concert with which Zagreb Wastewater Ltd and the Zagreb Philharmonics award the youngest.

This year, the award Best in Show and the award in the category of group work were won by the schools Sesvetska Sela and Žitnjak.

As many as sixty students had the opportunity to see how a concert is created and hear a lecture on how a classical music concert is made. The sixth-grade, seventh-grade and eighth-grade children listened to the lecture with particular interest.

Then, a reception was organized for them followed by a concert in the Vatroslav Lisinski great hall. It was a Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Concerto for Flute and Harp in C major, K.299, Ludwig van Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in D minor, op.125 and Blagoje Bersa’s Capriccio – Scherzo, op.25c performed by the Zagreb Philharmonics under the under the baton of David Danzmayer. The large audience was thrilled, among other things, by the soloist parts of the flute player Renata Penezić and the harp player Anneleen Lenaerts. The excellent performance by the academic choir Ivan Goran Kovačić also contributed to the overall concert.

This was an opportunity for the youngest to familiarize themselves with the classical music concert programme and gain the beautiful habit of visiting the concerts of such kind.
